DivcoWest Announces the Return of CX Fit, CX Summer Nights, and CX Movie Nights for 2022


DivcoWest, the national investment and development team behind the latest destination neighborhood and innovation hub, Cambridge Crossing (CX), announced today the return of the popular CX Summer Series. The highly anticipated lineup includes CX Fit, CX Summer Nights, and CX Movie Nights, plus an REI Co-op 5K race. In its 6 year, the event series will take place along Cambridge Crossing’s 11 acres of open space for the community to enjoy fitness classes, movie showings, and various outdoor activities for the whole family.

This year, the series will kick off with the REI Co-op 5k at CX on Sunday, June 5th at 9:30 am. The run will start and finish at REI’s Cambridge location and will let runners explore the Charles River waterfront along North Point Park and the open spaces in Cambridge Crossing. After the race, runners will get to celebrate at the finish festival with giveaways, running advice and Lamplighter beer.

CX Summer Nights, CX’s signature event series in partnership with the East Cambridge Business Association (ECBA), returns with free outdoor concerts in the Common at CX on Thursday, June 23, July 21, and August 18 from 5:30pm-8:30pm. Enjoy live music accompanied by a revolving lineup of local brews and drinks, food trucks, lawn games, and opportunities to support the Cambridge non-profit community. Other participants include the Cityscapes TransPLANTed truck, bike valet with Cambridge Bike Give Back, Park 151, CX’s first new residential building with prizes, and more. CX Fit comes back for a fourth season [in partnership with Club High-Rise. The free fitness series runs from June 11 to October 1, taking place every Wednesday evening at 6 pm in the Common at CX and every Saturday morning at 10 am in the Maria Baldwin Open Space with local DCXJs. Classes will include yoga, hip-hop dance, total body conditioning, and other activities. The wellness series will feature various special instructors, including Kick-It by Eliza with Eliza Shirazi, TRILLFIT with Meli Valdez, Barre Groove with Alanna Perry, and more.

CX Movie Nights, returns in partnership with the Brattle Theater and East Cambridge Business Association (ECBA) for a free double-feature movie series, taking place on June 30 and July 28 from 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm in the Maria Baldwin Open Space at CX. Enjoy a family and pet-friendly night of movies, popcorn, and food trucks. June 30 we will be playing Moana at 5:30 pm and School of Rock at 7:30 pm. July 28 we will be playing Encanto at 5:30 pm and Mrs. Doubtfire at 7:30 pm.

Owned and developed by DivcoWest, a national operator, owner, and developer of real estate in innovation markets across the country, CX is a new neighborhood comprised of 43-acres at the intersection of Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville and is part of the Kendall Square community. As the new home to world-class life science companies Bristol Myers Squibb, Philips, Sanofi, and Cerevel Therapeutics, this innovation hub offers 11 acres of public green spaces including a central common, a picnic grove, a hardscape park with a water feature, and a dog park.

CX is easily accessible by two MBTA stations, including the Lechmere Green Line stop on site and the Community College Orange Line stop just a few minutes away, buses, cycling and walking paths, and ride and bike shares.

At completion, CX will be comprised of 4.5 million square feet of commercial, residential, and retail. Two million square feet of commercial space is currently under construction, and preleasing for Park 151, a 20-story 468-unit multifamily building, has commenced.
