Après Cambridge at CX

We had a blast bundling up for an afternoon of winter fun in collaboration with the ECBA! We celebrated winter in the Picnic Grove with an ice sculpture demo & photo opportunity, curling on our synthetic curling rink, hot cocoa and sliders from the Lexington, homemade Belgium waffles from Zinneken’s food truck, Asian inspired eats from the Bon Me food truck, making sock penguins and snow people with Alex Makes Art arts & crafts station, roasting s’mores with Park 151, supporting the Friends of CRLS Ski Club, playing games with Knucklebones and more! Thank you to all who joined us in the cold!

Winter Lights at CX

There is no better way to get into the festive spirit than to enjoy the beautiful bright lights of the holiday season! The Winter lights at CX, designed by LuminArtz and installed by BRM Production Management are fully aglow, providing artfully designed colorful lighting to The Common at CX, the Picnic Grove, and the many pathways through CX. Stop by now, through February to brighten up the long winter days. Share your moments with us using the hashtag #CXLights!

HERstory: Public Art Installation at CX

DivcoWest/Cambridge Crossing partnered with Artists For Humanity to create HERstory, an impactful art installation celebrating the life and legacy of six Cambridge women who have made a significant impact in our community and beyond: Amelia Earhart, Gertrude Wright Morgan, Harriet Ann Jacobs, Julia Child, Katherine “Kittie” Knox, and Maria L. Baldwin. Each portrait was researched, designed, and painted by a teen artist at AFH, giving them the opportunity to draw inspiration from these visionaries and understand their contributions. These women all have their own stories, but together they have all overcome adversity and helped to shape the past and present of this neighborhood. Their legacies will inspire future generations to come. #herstorycx

CX Fit

We celebrated our fourth season of CX Fit, powered by Club High-Rise this past summer hosting free fitness classes every Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm and Saturday morning at 10:00 am featuring yoga, hip-hop dance, total-body conditioning, and more. Check out some photos from Summer 2022 below and stay tuned for registration for the 2023 season!

CX Summer Nights

We had an incredible summer hosting CX Summer Nights with the community! CX Summer Nights is a neighborhood celebration of live local music accompanied by a revolving lineup of local brews, food trucks, lawn games, the Cityscapes TransPLANTed plant truck, opportunities to support the Cambridge non-profit community, and more! Take a look at the photos from this summer in the links below, and stay tuned for the announcement of 2023 dates!

CX Movie Nights

CX Movie Nights was a fun two nights of free double-feature movies outside at CX! We teamed up with the Brattle Theater and the East Cambridge Business Association to bring a free movie series to the open spaces at CX. Take a look at all the fun we had this summer in the photo gallery below, and stay tuned for the announcement of 2023 dates!

Musical Fence Public Art Installation

The Musical Fence is bringing The Common at CX to life through sound! Inspired by Paul Matisse’s musical fence installed in front of Cambridge City Hall in 1980, this permanent sound sculpture is a blend of art, science, and community – a combination that’s right at home at CX. We are excited for the community to come together and create memorable sounds. Don’t forget to tag #chimeinatCX and share your pickup music-making!
